If you're interested in exercising more but don't have the time or money for a gym membership or fancy home equipment, you're in luck! You don't need to buy any special equipment to get a great workout at home! You can use common household objects like milk jugs, laundry jugs, stairs, a couch, and your bed to get a great workout. Here's how to use your home as a gym.
Couch or Bed
Your couch or bed can help you do a wide variety of exercises! If full pushups on your toes are too difficult, then use your furniture as a way to take some weight off and still work your chest and arms. If you're looking for a challenge, then try putting your feet on the couch and your hands on the floor! You can also do Bulgarian lunges or split squats by placing one foot on the couch and one on the floor when squatting. Couches and beds also make great tools for doing tricep dips.
Stairs
Stairs are a great way to get cardio in! Instead of using the stair climber at the gym, you can simply climb the stairs at your home or workplace for a killer workout. You can walk or run up the stairs to get your heart rate pumping. You can also mix it up by skipping a step as you walk up. Use the time you go back downstairs as a built-in rest period.
Water Bottles
You can water bottles for a variety of workouts in place of weights. Use them for bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, overhead press, and shoulder raises. Milk Jugs
If you're looking for something heavier, then try using milk jugs, water bottles, or even laundry detergent bottles that are a gallon or more! These are great for working big muscles like your biceps and leg muscles. You can squat, lunge, and deadlift while holding these bottles just like you would hold weights. If they have a good handle, you can even use them like a kettlebell to do kettlebell swings and ab twists.
Whatever tools you choose to use for your home workouts, make sure that you warm up and cool down properly.
